How Far to Stand from the Ball

If your posture is good with your weight balanced across the middle of your feet, you should wind up at a proper distance from the ball as a result. Once you've addressed the ball you can check it be taking your right hand off the club and spreading your fingers. You should be able to pass your right hand between your left hand and your body. If there is room for more than one hand, your weight is probably out on your toes because you've bent over too much from your hips. If your hand cannot pass through this gap, then your weight is probably on your heels because you've flexed your knees excessively and neglected to bend from your hips.
